Get Creative for Under 16
 

We now offer ALL sessions bookable on a standalone basis - so pick and choose the sessions that most appeal to your child.

We run projects in sewing, screen printing, printmaking, fashion illustration, drawing and illustration, craft and 3D modelling! There is so much on offer and we provide exciting projects that will give young people creative skills for life. Age restrictions apply which may vary from session-to-session. Please check the listing before booking. Please note, for all courses in 2024 onwards, bookings will be taken via Craft Courses. The link for each course is below the listing. We offer a 10% sibling discount, to book for more than one child per session, please ensure you choose the correct ticket option at the booking stage. We also offer a discount for multiple bookings. If you book two sessions via Craft Courses in a 2 month period (excluding family and subsidised sessions) you may be entitled to a 10% money back offer. You do not need to do anything to get this discount, we will contact you to let you know how or if we will apply this. If you do not hear from us please feel free to contact us

Textile Portraits

A fantastic and fun session experimenting with clay to create fun portraits. Be inspired by famous artists to create a fun and creative clay portrait. Perfect for all ages to get creative. Lots of support from a qualified art teacher. All materials and equipment included. Bring a photo of a face to work from if you wish, but not essential.

Dressmaking for Children: Sew and Make a Kimono Jacket

Ages 10 - 16 years

In this exciting session, we will be showing young people ages 10 - 16 years how to make their own clothes! They will make a wonderful Kimono Jacket.

 They will learn how to:

  • Use a sewing machine safely

  • Cut and sew a garment from a pattern using seams and hems

  • Add trimmings to their jacket

 

All materials and equipment provided. Please note, images are for illustration purposes only and fabrics will vary. Once booked, we will contact you with fabric options, if applicable. No experience required. Please note, you child will use a sewing machine in this session (this has been risk assessed with appropriate tools for age).

Stitched Cutie Mouse in a Box

Ages 5+ with accompanying adult FAMILY SESSION

A fun, sewing and craft session for adults and children at half term. Suitable for children aged 5+ (typical target age group 5 - 9 years but all ages 5+ welcome to participate)  

In this session, children will make a cute stitched mouse in a decorated decoupage box. 

Sewing is a fantastic skill for children(and adults). Have you ever wanted to sew with your child but not sure how to teach them? 

We show children (and adults)  how to:

  • Sew using a needle

  • Start and finish their sewing thread without knots

  • Add features like eyes, tail and ears

  • Collage and decorate their box

This booking is for one child with accompanying adult. At least one adult is expected to stay for the session (1 adult per 3 children minimum ratio). If you require places for more than one child, please book addtional tickets. No experience required. All materials and equipment provided.

Suitable for children aged 5+ (Younger siblings are welcome if they are in a pram/pushchair or can be supervised.)

Screen-print a T-shirt

Ages 9 - 15 years

A fantastic course for children ages 9-15 years to learn how to screen-print their own t-shirt design! 

In this session we show young people how to plan a design suitable for a stencil, how to cut a stencil, how to prepare and print their design. They will leave with a wonderful printed t-shirt!

 

We provide one t-shirt (we will contact you after booking to request a t-shirt size). Your child may wish to bring one additional t-shirt to print an extra (white/light colour cotton jersey t-shirts only). No experience required. Templates provided or they can design their own. 

Please note, your child will use a cutting tool in this session (this has been risk assessed with appropriate tools for age). 

PPE provided, but the inks can stain so please send your child in old clothes.
