Some of the things we do in our classes...
Sewing
In our block of sewing sessions, we provide a perfect course for children of all ages to learn to sew. Using both hand stitching and machine stitching methods, we will guide learners through the very basics and how to operate the machine safely. We will show learners how to make seams, cut and assemble a sewing project from start to finish. We provide a structured project within with learners can create their own pyjamas, make up bag, eye mask or other fun accessories. We will also introduce learners to hand sewing and embellishment techniques, applique and fabric dying/painting. By the end of this course, learners will have a good understanding of how to sew and make. We offer our full support to learners ensuring they all complete a project outcome. A great skill to learn and the start of a magical journey of creativity.
Screen printing
Screen printing is a great technique for children to learn. Suitable and adaptable for all ages, this course offers learners the chance to create drawings or photographs that they can then screen-print onto a variety of fabrics and surfaces. The course will allow learners to choose and create their own imagery, which will then be transferred onto a screen using light-sensitive emulsion. The screen can then be used to create multiple prints and patterns. Learners will also be shown how to dye and prepare fabrics using methods such as batik, stencilling, heat transfer printing, dying and painting. A very exciting course that produces fantastic results.
Learners will love this creative technique, and fabric can be used in a subsequent Basic Sewing course to make sewing projects. No experience required!
Printmaking
Explore the world of creative printmaking with this fun and exciting course. Learners will explore printmaking methods such as intaglio printing, collagraph, block printing and monoprinting. Learners will take inspiration from contextual sources, found objects and their own imagery to create exciting visual artworks. The course covers processes such as dry-point etching using a press, monoprinting using wet and dry methods and block printing using unusual surfaces.
This highly-creative and hands-on course is perfect from creative beginners or those looking to learn new creative skills. We welcome all abilities and guarantee creative success!
Fashion Illustration
For budding fashion designers, this course is a perfect opportunity to explore fashion illustration techniques to create stunning fashion designs. Learners will explore drawing and illustration techniques, researching trends and designing ranges, creating unusual papers and surfaces, hand-embellishment, exploring mixed-media illustration methods and presenting range boards. An ideal course for those who love to design.
No previous experience required, just an enthusiasm for fashion and design.
Art, Design and Craft

Learners will explore 2D and 3D crafts and techniques such as drawing, illustration, painting, heat transfer printing, collage, mixed-media, sculpture with 3D materials including clay and creating large-scale artworks.
