Applique and Free-motion machine embroidery
A wonderful workshop opportunity to learn how to layer fabrics and 'draw' with a sewing machine. Session run by Holly Capstick from Thread and Press CIC.
In this exciting workshop, learn how to select and layer a variety of beautiful cotton fabrics to create wonderful artwork. You will be shown how to select and create an image suitable, either bring your own images to work from (7 inch diameter max) or use some of Holly's many templates. You will then learn how to use free-motion machine embroidery (by lowering the feed dogs) to stitch, cut and reveal layers to make a beautiful artwork. Lots of images and fabrics to choose from. All materials and equipment (including sewing machines) are provided. Beginners welcome, even if you have no experience of free-motion sewing, Holly can show you how to use a machine successfully to make a fantastic fabric artwork.
