Textile Pet Portraits

 

NEW A fantastic opportunity to create an image of your favourite pet! Learn to use layers of beautiful printed cottons and qpplique techniques to create a wonderful portrait using layers. Then add layers of free-motion machine embroidery to add texture and detail. Makes a great gift - for yourself or a loved one.

You will be guided through the entire process, from choosing an image, preparing the image, transferring to fabric, layering, setting up and using a machine and stitching. Beginners welcome!

We advise you to email your photos to us after booking, and at least 3 days prior to the event, so that we can size and print then ready to trace/use. A face/shoulders image is best for mammals, up to 7 inch diameter in size. If unsure, you could email multiple options to threadandpress@gmail.com. If you don't have a pet but want to join in, we can provide template options. All materials and equipment are provided.

This is an adult course for students aged 16 + (or aged 13 if accompanied by an adult).
