Textile Portraits

 

Have you ever fancied creating a portrait using fabrics? Holly can show you how! Holly Capstick is a textile artist specialising in textile portraits. In this lovely workshop, you will learn how to prepare an image and select fabrics for your portrait. There are lots of fabrics to choose from. You will then be shown how to trace and layer your fabrics, ready to embroider. Holly will show you how to set up and master free0motion machine embroidery, before being guided through the stages of preparing your portrait.

Beginners welcome! ​​We strongly advise you to email your photos to us after booking, and at least 3 days prior to the event, so that we can size and print then ready to trace/use. A face/shoudlers image is best for mammals, up to 7 inch diameter in size. If unsure, you could email multiple options to threadandpress@gmail.com. If you don't have a pet but want to join in, we can provide template options. All materials and equipment are provided.

This is an adult course for students aged 16 + (or aged 13 if accompanied by an adult).
