Community Art Projects
Thread and Press CIC are committed to providing art and creative experiences to communities in our area. As part of this commitment, we seek funding to run projects where there is an identified project need or beneficiary. We are interested in a wide range of projects, particularly those that:

Provide creative experiences to those who might not normally have access to due financial or location restrictions

Provide opportunity to use creativity as a way to promote positive mental health

Provide connection for communities, particularly those in isolated areas

Provide new and exciting opportunities

THREAD AND PRESS CIC COMMUNITY PLEDGE
Funded by Thread and Press CIC
As part of our commitment to community and creativity in our area, we are providing at least one self-funded workshop to a good cause each quarter. Sessions may be delivered to schools, community groups or charities. We are interested in providing opportunity to:

CREATIVE HAPPY MINDS
MID AND SOUTH HOLDERNESS
Funded by Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust
We were thrilled to run our Creative HAPPY Minds project to service rural communities in Mid and South Holderness wards funded by the Humber Teaching NHS Foundation Trust. The project ran from January - April 2023 and provided a series of creative workshops for rural area residents of Mid and South Holderness to particpate in creative activities that provided the opportunity to:

Experience creativity as a way to promote positive mental health

Provide opportunity for social connection within their community

Provide communities with the opportunity to reflect on how creativity can become a regular pastime, hobby or activity for independent pursual

Provide resources, equipment and opportunity to areas that are classed as mainly rural isolated or significant distance from the nearest town
TRY CREATE POCKLINGTON
TRY CREATE MARKET WEIGHTON
Funded by Active Towns/Active East Riding
TRY CREATE Pocklington and TRY CREATE Market Weighton were exciting projects funded by Active Towns and East Riding of Yorkshire Council. The project aimed to encourage and support communities and residents to be mentally and socially active in Pocklington and Market Weighton.
We delivered taster sessions in felting, drawing, screenprinting, lino-printing, sewing and embroidery for adults and children. Sessions were extremely well recieved and we reached around 120 particpants in our in-person sessions. To find out more watch our video:
Creative Humber
Funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.
The Creative Humber project consisted of 36 sessions for adults and children which ran across the Hull area, in-person and and online.
The project aimed to:

Reduce feelings of isolation and promote creativity to support mental health in adults and children across the Kingston-upon-Hull area.

Provide opportunity to use creativity as a tool to help participants to engage and connect

To inspire and encourage participation in the arts
We delivered engaging sessions in felting, drawing, screenprinting, lino-printing, etching, sewing and embroidery. Sessions were extremely well recieved and we reached around 250 particpants via ZOOM and in-person. To find out more, watch our video here:
Wish You Were Here Project - East Riding of Yorkshire
Funded by the East Riding VCSE Network
The Wish You Were Here Project ran from December 2020 to March 2021, and provided free creative workshops to residents in the East riding of Yorkshire. The project aimed to reduce feelings of social isolation and build resilience through the winter months, particularly those in rural areas. It was an opportunity for participants to engage in creative task to promote positive mental health in difficult times. 20 sessions were delivered online to over 120 participants, plus we supplied 20 additional free arts kits to residents in the area.
