I Am ME
I Am ME is an exciting arts project for children in Goole. Funded by a Project Grant from Arts Council England This project runs from July - December 2025 and provides children with the opportunity to express themselves through creative writing and portraits.
We will be running several FREE arts workshops in the Goole area across the summer holidays and autumn half term, as well as some sessions in selected schools. All work created will be featured in an art exhibition at Goole Art Gallery and Museum in December 2025!

How you can get involved...
We have now completed all of the workshops in community spaces and schools. We are delighted that Goole Museum will be hosting an exhibition of the work created from Thursday 4th December - Saturday 12th December 2025 (open Tues-Fri 10am - 5pm and Sat 9am - 5pm, closed Sundays and Mondays)

DO PARENTS NEED TO STAY WITH THEIR CHILD?
​​Our organisation, Thread and Press CIC, has plentiful experience of running workshops for children. We are fully insured and ERMOS registered with Safeguarding policies and Risk Assessments in place. We ask that children under the age of 7 are supervised at all times be a responsible adult. Children older than 7 years can be dropped off and collected, providing you complete one of our emergency contact forms whilst booking. We asked that children are collected promptly. If they are making their own way home, please indicate this at the time of booking or let us know on the day.

can children under 5 attend?
This project is aimed at children aged 5 - 16 years. We understand that parents may need to bring younger siblings, but please notify us beforehand if you need to do this, as some spaces have strict limits to the number of people that can be accommodated. can children attend more than one session?
As places are limited and session can be repeated, we suggest that you only book one session for your child. However, we may contact previous attendees if we have spaces available on other workshops.
Exhibition Information​
All work created for the project will be exhibited in the I Am ME Exhibition at Goole Art Gallery at Goole Museum (Upstairs), Carlisle Street, Goole, DN14 4DS between Thursday 4th December and Saturday 13th December 2025 (closed Sundays and Mondays - please check with the venue for specific opening times). The exhibition will be open to the public, so please come along and take a look. There will also be a Preview evening for the families and friends of the children involved, Wednesday 3rd December 4-7pm - please book a place by emailing us at threadandpress@gmail.com

We often take photographs of artwork, events an particpants in our sessions, to use on Thread and Press CIC social media platforms, for promotional purposes and for our funders. We always ask parents to complete a photograph permission slip for everyone in their booking who is in attendance. We would never video or photograph you or your child without your permission.

We do our best to make sure that all sessions are as accessible as possible. With that in mind, please do ensure that you use the section on the booking for to inform us of any access requirements you may have, or anything we should be aware of to support your child in the creative process (jncluding any relevant health information, allergies or special needs) so that we can ensure we are prepared.
